What is Monica's memory function?​

Monica now has a memory function that allows it to remember information mentioned by users across multiple conversations, providing a more personalized and continuous interaction experience. Here are some key features:

  1. Personalized interaction: Monica can remember personal information, interests, and preferences shared by users. For example, it can remember a user's occupation, hobbies, and past conversation content. This makes each interaction more tailored to the user's actual needs and background.
  2. Improved efficiency: By remembering previous conversation content, Monica can reduce repetitive communication. This greatly improves efficiency for users who need to communicate frequently with AI. For example, it can remember a user's work environment and specific project requirements, providing more targeted suggestions and assistance.
  3. Long-term tracking and support: Monica can track a user's progress on long-term projects or goals. For example, if a user has long-term goals in fitness, learning, or work, Monica can provide ongoing encouragement, reminders, and suggestions to help the user stay motivated and achieve their goals.
  4. Customized recommendations: The memory function enables Monica to provide more customized recommendations and solutions based on a user's history and preferences. For example, it can remember a user's preferences on specific topics and suggest relevant information and resources in subsequent conversations.
  5. Privacy and security: Monica places great importance on user privacy and data security. Users can view, update, or delete information in Monica's memory at any time, ensuring their personal data is securely protected.

How do I enable or disable memory?​

By default, the memory function is turned off. However, you can turn it on at any time: MemoryIntroduction

After turning on the memory function, turning it off again will not clear the existing memory content. This only means that Monica will pause learning new content through conversations. Deleting chat records will not affect the information Monica has already remembered. If you want Monica to forget certain memories, you can do so through conversation or manual deletion. Please note that the memory function is currently only available in Monica Bot, and other Bots do not support this feature at the moment.

How do I view or clear a memory?​

To understand what Monica remembers you can ask it. You can also view specific memories by selecting Memory. If Memory is on, you can also directly ask Monica to forget something.
